This Privacy Policy describes how personal data is processed in connection with the Release Brief website, commercial communication, license handling and the use of the Release Brief Azure DevOps extension.
3. What data may be processed
Depending on how you contact us or use the service, the following data may be processed:
- contact details such as name, email address, company name and message content,
- information required to prepare an offer, handle licensing or issue accounting documents,
- Azure DevOps organization information required to share the extension with a selected organization,
- technical website-related data if collected by the hosting provider or essential website services.
4. How Release Brief works
Release Brief runs as an extension inside Azure DevOps and the user's browser. It uses Azure DevOps APIs to read only the data required for the product features, based on granted permissions.
5. Where settings and configuration are stored
Organization-wide configuration may be stored in Azure DevOps Extension Data Service inside the customer's organization. Local user preferences may be stored in the browser.
6. Company data and security
Release Brief does not use a separate backend to process release data. Work item content, pull requests, builds and other project data are not transmitted outside Azure DevOps and the user's browser. Release Brief does not use external telemetry or AI services for release analysis.
7. Purpose of processing
Data is processed in order to:
- respond to inquiries,
- prepare offers,
- provide licensing and customer support,
- fulfill accounting and tax obligations,
- operate the website.
8. Legal basis
Data may be processed:
- based on consent,
- to take steps prior to entering into a contract or to perform a contract,
- to comply with legal obligations,
- based on the controller's legitimate interest.

Contact and business data is stored for as long as necessary to handle the inquiry, perform the cooperation and comply with legal obligations.
